Electric guitar
The
difference between acoustic guitars and electric guitars is similar to the difference between
apples and oranges. Apples and oranges can both be eaten, and they
are both sweet, but the tastes are completely different. Acoustic
and electric guitar are played in similar ways, and the notes are
the same, but the sound is different.
This is because electric guitars use electronic pickups and convert
the vibration of the steel strings into electrical current. Electric
guitars are plugged into amplifiers which, as the name implies,
amplify the sound. And, in fact, the sound of electric guitars can
be acoustical, but it can also be electric which sounds much different.
Electric guitars are used by more than just heavy metal musicians!
You will see all kinds of bands toting electric guitars –
rock and roll bands, pop bands, blues bands, country bands, and
even jazz bands. Electric guitars are extremely popular in the music
field.
